I work as a child and family therapist who specializes in ADHD, anxiety, and teaching mindfulness-based coping skills which can be utilized for a variety of mental health and emotional regulation needs.
When working with clients, I hope to foster a multiculturally-aware environment that recognizes all clients have individual preferences and needs for seeking out counseling. The therapeutic style I utilize can be best described as a combination of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT) with Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). In using this therapeutic style, clients bring more mindful attention and focus to their present-moment feelings and thoughts, and ideally develop greater self-compassion and more positive self-talk within themselves over time. Clients in the beginning sessions also create therapeutic short-term and long-term goals which they continue to work on over the proceeding weeks and months to systematically improve various mental health life dimensions and deficits in cognitive executive functioning.
