Services Offered

Free 15-Minute Phone Consultation

Choosing a professional counselor to walk along with you during trying times can be overwhelming. The client, as well as the therapist, needs to make sure that they are a good fit. We understand that our approach may not line up with your thoughts and ideas about counseling. This is why we offer a free 15-minute phone consultation.

We are proud to offer counseling services to individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and pre-teens, as well as conflict resolution. Every situation is different, and we recognize that the dynamics of families and individuals will require different approaches and modalities. We will work with you to outline the issues, identify the goals, create a plan, and walk through whatever brought you to us together.

We treat several mental disorders like depression, substance abuse, anxiety, and trauma, to name a few. We are work with individuals who have been ordered by a court of law to enter into counseling.

We strongly support our first responders and active-duty military and veterans. We are available to our first responders to counsel through the traumas they encounter while on and off the job. As a 20-year U.S. Army veteran and the father of 5 children, I understand how military life can be difficult, and I bring a unique perspective to counseling our military and their families.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling is available for those clients with a Christian faith and who prefer counseling to incorporate biblical principles. We believe that integrating Christian principles with proven therapeutic modalities can be beneficial for our clients.

Individual Therapy

Individual counseling is the process of developing a therapeutic relationship and trust with the client so that they may work through issues or trauma affecting their daily living.

Relationship & Family Therapy

All relationships, whether as a married couple, dating, or an entire family, experience real challenges. Living life is about our relationships with others. Sometimes we need help working through the challenges affecting our relationships. Counseling will assist couples or families in facing their challenges and making the necessary changes to repair relationships.

Adolescent & Young Adult Therapy

Having an adolescent in the home can be difficult times, which is why we work with both the parent and the child. Having healthy boundaries is a must, and sometimes those boundaries are not clearly understood and can cause friction.

Premarital Counseling

Many couples have found that premarital counseling helps to avoid pitfalls when learning how to live as a married couple. We highly recommend premarital counseling before saying, “I do.” “Premarital counseling is a great way for people to do their homework about the most important decision they are ever going to make so that they can go into it armed with skills that are going to be very helpful,” Scott Braithwaite, BYU Psychology Professor.

Conflict Resolution

Conflict is a normal part of life and expected to enter into any relationship we have. Counseling can assist when conflict resolution is difficult. Avoiding conflict at all costs is not a healthy way to resolve it; learning how to discuss differences and develop a path forward is the key to resolving conflicts.

Simple Process

How Does it Work?

When you determine that counseling may be needed, you must first find a licensed therapist that can connect with you and with whom you feel safe, allowing into your life. It is an honor that you are here and ready to take that step. Once counseling begins, you will be on your way to better mental health, which ultimately leads to stronger physical health.

Step 1:

Schedule An Appointment

Scheduling and managing your appointments has never been easier. New and existing clients can access our patient portal to start care or make and change appointments and manage billing. When a new client requests an appointment, intake documents, and practice policies are emailed for completion. Once the intake forms are complete, your appointment will be confirmed.

Step 2:

We discuss it and create a plan

We will meet in the office and get to know one another. I will ask questions about you, your family & friends, your work life, and we will discuss what has brought you to counseling and how, together, we can resolve the issues you are facing.

Questions patients ask

Frequent Questions

Everyone has questions and if you don’t find your’s here, please contact me and I’ll get you an answer.

How do I know when it is time to get support?

When you have tried everything you can to improve the situation and nothing is working, it is time to bring in a licensed professional counselor to help you through the challenges you are facing. You don’t have to do it alone.

How long does therapy last?

There is not a specific time length for therapy. It can last from one session to months or even years. It all depends on what you want and need. Some people come to counseling with a particular problem they need to solve and might find that one or two sessions are sufficient.

What is a Marriage and Family Counseling?

Marriage and Family Counseling is psychotherapy that addresses how all family members behave and the way these behaviors affect individual family members, and the relationships between family members and the whole family. Treatment can be a combination of individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy, depending on the dynamics and needs of the group.

What type of therapy is offered?

We offer therapy for individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and young adults. We treat anxiety, depression, anger issues, family issues, and post-traumatic stress, to name a few. We work closely with physicians by accepting warm handoffs. We also offer crisis counseling to our school systems and first responders.

What our customers say

Client Testimonials

“We knew it was meant to be when we met John. We first met him at a local Dog shelter where he was donating his time to socializing dogs there to make them more adoptable. We made a connection to both being in the military, and he offered some light conversation. My visits were always at my pace, and he always gave me the feeling he cared. I never felt judged or miss-understood. He gave me alternatives to my behaviors and helped me research other techniques for PTSD and TBI. I felt safe knowing he would always have my back. Even though I moved, he still checks in on me and asks how he can help. He is better than a therapist; he is a Brother in Arms. Thank you for everything you do.”
